BM Aluminium, the market leader in fenestration software in UK and Ireland has taken on the skills challenge at its offices on Brockeridge Park near Tewkesbury. With greater workload, so the business has needed more and more software technicians to support its customers answering technical queries and providing regular software updates.
According to Dean Hodges, BM Aluminium’s managing director, “As a successful and growing business, we needed more software technicians to serve our expanding client base. The problem was recruiting the right people. There was no problem attracting applicants to our wonderful, high-quality offices at Brockeridge Park – the ease with which you can get here from the motorway sold it to people right from the start.
“The problem was getting the right people, with the ‘can do’ attitude, technical ability and focus on customer service that we need. We simply weren’t seeing the right candidates. And when we looked back over the last 10 years, we realised that we had always been most successful in recruiting young and training our own team. Senior installations technician Dan Hodges and junior technician Ben Knight, for example, both originally joined the company as trainees and benefited from the comprehensive workplace training programme which is in place.”
So with the arrival of Jack Antosch in June and another new recrut expected soon, BM is repeating the process again. Jack is already learning fast and Dean and the established team at BM are already delighted with the results.
